Dubai in July 2027: Heat, Prices and Whether to Go
A July week in Dubai gets you afternoons of 40°C and up plus some of the lowest hotel rates of the year. A November week gets you days around 30°C and the cheapest one-way fare dubaiamsterdam.com tracks from Amsterdam: EUR 147 for November 2026 departures, checked on 28 October 2026. For most people flying from Schiphol, November wins. July only pays off if what you want is a discounted resort, a pool and a lot of air-conditioned malls.
Dubai in July is hot, humid and quiet, and the city copes by moving life indoors and into the evening. Go in with that plan and it's a good-value trip. Go expecting to stroll along the Creek at lunchtime and you'll be back in your hotel by 11:00.
One practical note first: July 2027 fares aren't in our tracker yet. The fare calendar on dubaiamsterdam.com currently publishes departure months up to February 2027, so any July price you see quoted today is a guess, not a tracked figure.
Avoid the classic July mistakes
The biggest July mistake is planning Dubai like a European city break, with long walks and outdoor sightseeing in the middle of the day. Typical July highs in Dubai sit around 40 to 43°C, nights rarely drop much below 30°C, and coastal humidity makes it feel hotter than the thermometer says. These are the things that catch people out.
- Midday outdoor plans. Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, the Deira souks and the Dubai Marina promenade are early-morning or after-sunset activities in July. Between roughly 10:00 and 17:00, be inside or in water.
- Counting on the winter attractions. Global Village and Dubai Miracle Garden are seasonal venues that close over the summer and reopen in autumn. Check each venue's own website for its season before you plan around it.
- Fogged lenses. Step out of an air-conditioned lobby and your sunglasses and camera fog up instantly. Give the camera ten minutes in its bag before you shoot.
- Hot sand and hot metal. Beach sand at 14:00 burns bare feet, and so do seatbelt buckles in a parked car. Wear sandals down to the waterline.
- Ignoring the Dutch school holidays. The Dutch summer school holiday (zomervakantie) is the six-week summer break, staggered across the north, middle and south regions, and it starts in July. Schiphol gets busy and fares out of Amsterdam rise. The Dutch government publishes each year's regional dates on rijksoverheid.nl.
- Under-dressing for indoors. Malls, cinemas, the Dubai Metro and taxis are chilled hard. Bring a light layer.
Pack for 42°C outside and a fridge inside
Pack loose linen or cotton that covers shoulders and knees, which also works for malls and for mosque visits such as Jumeirah Mosque. Add high-factor sunscreen, a wide hat, sunglasses, a refillable bottle and a rash guard if you plan to swim near midday. Throw in a cardigan or thin jacket for the air conditioning, and leave the jeans at home.
Run the real July numbers
Dubai in July is low season: hotel rates drop, many outdoor venues close, and the only real unknown for travellers from Amsterdam is the fare. Here is what the data shows, and where it stops.
Weather norms
- Daytime highs: around 40 to 43°C, with spikes above 45°C in some years.
- Nights: around 29 to 32°C, often with high humidity near the coast.
- Sea temperature: the Arabian Gulf off Jumeirah Beach runs roughly 32 to 34°C, closer to a warm bath than a cool dip.
- Rain: next to none. July is one of the driest months, though summer winds can bring dusty haze.
- Daylight: about 13 and a half hours, with sunrise around 05:30 and sunset around 19:10.
- Time difference: Dubai is two hours ahead of Amsterdam during Dutch summer time.
Flights
Fares for July 2027 are not tracked yet, so we won't put a number on them. What we can show is the range for the months we do track. The cheapest one-way fare from Amsterdam to Dubai ranges from EUR 147 (November 2026) to EUR 171 (October 2026), in fares tracked by dubaiamsterdam.com on 28 October 2026.
Median one-way fares from Amsterdam to Dubai run from EUR 172 (February 2027) to EUR 262 (December 2026), according to the dubaiamsterdam.com fare tracker, checked 28 October 2026. The cheapest return from Amsterdam to Dubai found that day was EUR 274 on AJet, observed by dubaiamsterdam.com on 28 October 2026. For comparison, two of the cheapest November one-way legs would add up to EUR 294, so a return ticket can beat booking two singles.
In the other direction, the cheapest one-way fare from Dubai to Amsterdam ranges from AED 449 (November 2026) to AED 752 (October 2026), and the cheapest return was AED 1,096 on AJet, both from fares tracked by dubaiamsterdam.com on 28 October 2026. When July 2027 enters the data, it will show up first in the Amsterdam and Dubai fare calendar.
Hotels
July sits at the cheap end of the year for Dubai hotels, and many resorts sell summer packages with lower nightly rates plus extras such as included meals, late checkout or kids staying free. We don't track July hotel prices, so compare on your actual dates; it's easy to compare summer rates across Dubai hotels once you know them. On top of the room rate, Dubai hotels charge the Tourism Dirham, a per-room, per-night fee set by Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism that rises with the hotel's category.
Day-to-day costs
A mid-range dinner for two in Dubai costs AED 350, according to the dubaiamsterdam.com cost of living table (reviewed August 2026). A monthly Nol transport pass from Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) costs AED 350, reviewed by dubaiamsterdam.com in August 2026. Special 95 petrol in Dubai costs AED 4.28 a litre in October 2026, measured by dubaiamsterdam.com from ADNOC Distribution's price board. UAE VAT is 5%, according to the UAE Ministry of Finance (rule reviewed January 2026).
Moving rather than visiting? Dubai utilities average AED 720 a month based on DEWA tariffs (reviewed by dubaiamsterdam.com in August 2026), and the bill peaks in summer because the air conditioning never stops. The full Dubai and Amsterdam cost of living comparison has every line with its source and date.
What's on in July
- Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS): the city's annual summer shopping and family festival, run by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, with mall discounts, raffles and kids' entertainment. It usually opens in late June or early July and runs into August or early September. Dates change every year, so check visitdubai.com.
- Public holidays: Islamic holidays follow the lunar calendar and move about 11 days earlier each year. On current estimates, Eid al-Adha and the Islamic New Year both fall before July in 2027, so July 2027 is unlikely to carry a UAE public holiday. Confirm against the UAE government's official holiday announcement.
- UAE school summer break: schools in Dubai break up around early July, so many resident families fly out. Roads ease, and flights out of Dubai International (DXB) fill up.
Plan your July trip in five steps
Planning Dubai in July comes down to five decisions, made in this order.
- Check your entry rules. Dutch passport holders can enter the UAE without applying for a visa in advance. Our guide to how long Dutch citizens can stay in Dubai without a visa covers the limits, and your airline will check passport validity at Schiphol.
- Watch fares from spring. KLM and Emirates fly nonstop, while carriers such as AJet, the Turkish Airlines budget brand behind our current headline return, are usually cheaper with a change in Istanbul. Start looking early because of the Dutch school holidays, and compare fares from Amsterdam to Dubai on your exact dates.
- Pick a base where you never walk outside. Downtown Dubai links Dubai Mall, the Burj Khalifa and the Metro by air-conditioned walkways, which matters more in July than any view. A beach resort on Palm Jumeirah works if pool time is the point.
- Sort mobile data before you land. You'll lean on ride-hailing apps more than usual in July, so install a travel eSIM for the UAE at home and switch it on as you taxi in at DXB.
- Schedule the day around the sun. Outdoors before 09:00 and after 18:00, indoors in between. Book anything outdoors for early morning or sunset, never midday.
Do these in July, skip one
- Resort pool and sea mornings. Summer packages make five-star resorts unusually good value, and Aquaventure at Atlantis The Palm is at its best when the sea is this warm. Look at hotels on Palm Jumeirah if that's your plan.
- The indoor heavyweights. Museum of the Future, the Dubai Aquarium inside Dubai Mall and Ski Dubai at Mall of the Emirates. Real snow in July is silly, and you'll love it anyway.
- An evening desert safari. Pick-ups are late afternoon, dune driving happens around sunset and dinner comes after dark. It's still close to 40°C at departure, so you can book an evening desert safari with a sunset slot rather than a morning one.
- The Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa after dark. Evening fountain shows and the observation decks are a far better deal at night than in the glare.
Skip the midday Old Dubai walking tour. Al Fahidi and the abra ride across Dubai Creek are lovely, but in July they belong to the hour after sunrise or nowhere.
Compare July with the cooler months
July is the hottest, quietest and cheapest month for Dubai hotels, while November and January trade higher room rates for weather you can walk in.
| Month | Typical daytime high (°C) | Sea temperature (°C) | Crowds and hotel rates | Cheapest tracked one-way AMS to DXB (EUR, checked 28 Oct 2026) | Cheapest tracked one-way DXB to AMS (AED, checked 28 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| July | 40 to 43 | 32 to 34 | Low season, lowest rates | Not tracked yet | Not tracked yet |
| November | 29 to 32 | 26 to 28 | High season begins, rates rising | 147 | 449 |
| January | 23 to 25 | 21 to 23 | Peak season, highest rates | 150 | 491 |
Decide whether July is worth it
Go in July if you want a cheap resort holiday with pools, waterparks and malls, especially if you're tied to the Dutch school holidays and your kids will happily live in the water. Everyone else should wait for November, when the cheapest one-way fare tracked by dubaiamsterdam.com was EUR 147 and the old city is walkable again. Couples who came to explore Dubai rather than lounge in it: skip July.
