Dubai in April 2027: Weather, Events and Fares from Amsterdam
A week in Dubai between 1 and 23 April 2027 gets you daytime highs of about 30 to 34°C and quieter flights out of Amsterdam. A week from 24 April gets you 34°C and up, plus the Dutch meivakantie rush at Schiphol. For most readers the first three weeks win: the sea is warm, evenings outside are still pleasant, and you avoid paying school holiday prices.
April is Dubai's shoulder season. Shoulder season is the stretch between peak and low season, when the weather still works and prices start to fall. April 2027 also looks unusually clean on the calendar. Ramadan is expected to finish in early March, so restaurants, bars and attractions should keep normal hours all month. One gap to know about up front: dubaiamsterdam.com doesn't track April 2027 fares yet, so this guide gives you the nearest real numbers and tells you when to check again.
April by the week
The best weeks for most travellers are the first two or three, before both the heat and the Dutch school holiday build. The table below uses typical climate norms for Dubai, not a forecast, alongside the 2027 Dutch calendar.
| Travel window (2027) | Typical daytime high (°C) | Typical night low (°C) | Sea temperature (°C) | Dutch holiday pressure | Dubai hotel rates |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 11 April | 29 to 32 | 19 to 22 | 23 to 25 | Low (Easter Monday is 29 March) | Easing after the winter peak |
| 12 to 23 April | 31 to 34 | 21 to 23 | 24 to 26 | Low | Moderate, often the best value of the month |
| 24 April to 2 May | 33 to 36 | 22 to 25 | 25 to 27 | High (meivakantie, Koningsdag 27 April) | Firmer at family resorts and on weekends |
These are typical ranges, and a given year can run a few degrees either side. For the actual forecast in the week before you fly, use the UAE's National Center of Meteorology at ncm.gov.ae.
April in practice
In practice, April in Dubai means beach weather during the day, terrace weather at night and a strong sun at noon. Here's what that does to your packing, your budget and your plans.
Weather and packing
Daytime in April is properly hot by Dutch standards but not yet the furnace of June. Mornings and late afternoons are good for walking. Between about 11:00 and 15:00 the sun is fierce, even on days that only reach 31°C. Rain is rare, and a typical April has a rainy day or two at most. Daylight runs to roughly twelve and a half hours, with sunset at about 18:30 to 18:45.
Pack light, breathable clothes, a proper hat, SPF 50 and sunglasses. Bring one light layer as well, because malls, taxis and the metro run their air conditioning cold. You'll also want something that covers shoulders and knees for the Jumeirah Mosque, the souks of Deira and Bur Dubai, and some hotel restaurants. Leave the rain jacket at home.
The UAE stays on Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4) all year, and the Netherlands moves to summer time at the end of March, so Dubai is two hours ahead of Amsterdam in April. That's an easy jet lag.
Fares and hotel rates
Fares for April 2027 departures aren't in the dubaiamsterdam.com fare tracker yet, because that month doesn't have enough priced days to publish. The furthest month tracked so far is February 2027. Here's what we do have.
The cheapest one-way fare from Amsterdam to Dubai ran from EUR 147 (November 2026) to EUR 171 (October 2026) across October 2026 to February 2027 departures, according to fares tracked by dubaiamsterdam.com, checked 28 October 2026. Median one-way fares for the same months ranged from EUR 172 (February 2027) to EUR 262 (December 2026), according to the same dubaiamsterdam.com data. The cheapest return the site found on 28 October 2026 was EUR 274 on AJet, Turkish Airlines' low-cost brand, which connects through Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen.
If you need a rough return figure for budgeting, double the cheapest tracked one-way months. That gives EUR 294 to 342. Treat it as a yardstick, not an April quote. KLM and Emirates fly Amsterdam to Dubai nonstop and usually cost more than the one-stop options. You can watch April appear on the Amsterdam to Dubai fare calendar once enough days are priced.
In the other direction, the cheapest one-way fare from Dubai to Amsterdam ran from AED 449 (November 2026) to AED 752 (October 2026), according to fares tracked by dubaiamsterdam.com, checked 28 October 2026. That's useful if you're visiting from Dubai, or if you want to book each leg separately.
Hotel rates in Dubai generally slide through April as the winter peak ends. Beach hotels hold their prices best, and city hotels near Dubai World Trade Centre can jump during big trade fairs. For a first stay focused on the sea, start with hotels around Dubai Marina, which put you a short walk from JBR beach and on the tram line.
On the ground, a mid-range dinner for two in Dubai costs AED 350, according to the dubaiamsterdam.com cost of living table (reviewed August 2026). Petrol in Dubai costs AED 4.28 a litre for Special 95 in October 2026, measured from ADNOC Distribution's price board by dubaiamsterdam.com. UAE VAT is 5%, against 21% in the Netherlands, according to the UAE Ministry of Finance and the Belastingdienst (reviewed January 2026). The full Dubai and Amsterdam cost of living comparison has every line with its source.
What's on
April has no UAE public holidays in 2027 if the moon sighting goes as expected: Eid al-Fitr should fall in March and Eid al-Adha in May. Here are the recurring events worth knowing about:
- Global Village, the open-air pavilion park off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, usually closes for summer in late April or May. The exact closing date changes every year, so check globalvillage.ae.
- Dubai Miracle Garden runs a winter to late spring season and normally stays open through April. Check its site for the 2027 closing date.
- Art Dubai, the annual art fair at Madinat Jumeirah, has been held in March in some years and April in others. Confirm at artdubai.ae.
- Arabian Travel Market, the industry trade show at Dubai World Trade Centre, usually falls in late April or early May and pushes up rates at nearby business hotels.
- Dubai World Cup, the horse race at Meydan, is held in late March, so it sits just before April rather than in it.
On the Dutch side, Koningsdag (King's Day) falls on Tuesday 27 April 2027. The 2027 meivakantie, the Dutch May school holiday, runs from 24 April to 2 May for all regions, according to Rijksoverheid's published school holiday schedule.
Best in April, and one to skip
Here are four things that are at their best in April:
- The sea. At 24 to 26°C, the water at Kite Beach and JBR is the warmest it gets before it turns bathwater-hot in summer. Swim in the morning and leave the beach before lunch.
- Global Village at night. Go after 19:00, when it's about 25°C. Go early in the month, because you're catching the end of the season.
- An evening desert safari, in the first half of April. Dune drives and a camp dinner are still comfortable at sunset, while by late May they're a sweat test. You can compare desert safaris and other Dubai tours by pickup time and group size.
- A day trip to Hatta. Kayaking on Hatta Dam and the mountain trails are pleasant until about mid April, after which you'll want to start early.
Hatta is about an hour and a half's drive from the Marina, and it's far easier with your own wheels than on the bus. If you go, hire a car for the day and fill up at an ADNOC or ENOC station on the way out.
Skip Ski Dubai. You left an Amsterdam April of 13°C and drizzle for a reason, and a fake snow slope inside Mall of the Emirates isn't it.
Booking April, step by step
The smart order is entry rules first, then dates, fares, hotel and arrival. Here are the steps, with timing.
- Check your passport now. Dutch citizens can enter the UAE without applying for a visa in advance. The details of how long you can stay are in our guide to how long Dutch citizens can stay in Dubai without a visa. Airlines usually want six months of passport validity, so renew if you're close.
- Pick dates that end before 24 April. That keeps you clear of the meivakantie and Koningsdag at both ends of the trip.
- Start watching fares from December. April departures should start showing on the site's calendar as booking data builds up. Meanwhile, you can search Amsterdam to Dubai flights for April and compare the nonstop KLM and Emirates prices with the one-stop carriers.
- Book the hotel by area, not by brand. Choose Dubai Marina or JBR for the beach, Downtown Dubai for the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall, and Deira or Al Fahidi for the old town and lower prices.
- Sort data before you land. Roaming on a Dutch plan is expensive outside the EU. A travel eSIM for the UAE installed at home will work as soon as you switch on your phone at DXB.
- Get a Nol card at the airport metro station. A Nol card is Dubai's rechargeable transit card from the RTA, and it covers the metro, tram and buses. The Red Line runs from Terminals 1 and 3 into the city.
Common April mistakes
The most common April mistake is treating the whole month as if it were early April. The last week is noticeably hotter, so plan anything strenuous for the start of the month or the start of the day.
Others that catch people out:
- Booking the meivakantie week by default. Many Dutch families do, which is exactly why fares and family resorts get busier from 24 April.
- Assuming it never rains. Storms are rare but serious. On 16 April 2024 record rainfall flooded roads across Dubai and disrupted flights at Dubai International for days. Take travel insurance and check the forecast.
- Booking a city hotel during a trade fair. If Arabian Travel Market lands in late April, rooms near Sheikh Zayed Road cost more. Check the Dubai World Trade Centre events calendar before you book.
- Copying advice from other years. Ramadan moves about 11 days earlier each year. It's out of April in 2027, but older guides that warn about April Ramadan hours were written for other years.
- Underestimating the sun. At 31°C with a breeze off the Gulf, you won't feel yourself burning. Reapply sunscreen every two hours.
- Ignoring the return leg. Fares from Dubai are priced in AED, and two separate one-way tickets sometimes beat a return. Compare both before you pay.
The call
Go between 1 and 23 April 2027, stay near the beach, and spend your evenings outdoors while you still can. Book once April fares appear on the calendar, aim to leave before Koningsdag, and spend the money you save on the meivakantie premium on a sunset desert dinner.
